Lakeway Airpark, Inc.
115 Flying Scot
Lakeway, TX 78734
Executive session, Monday August 30, 1999
A special meeting was called by president Anderson at his home. This meeting began at 7:13 p.m. In attendance were all board members and Mr. Charles Edwards.
Topics of Discussion:
1. Sonny McCutcheon request for various airpark documents.
Concern was expressed by Rocky Peebles and Bill Bunten that the format of Mr. McCutcheons request may not be valid, i.e. not submitted in writing with an indication of the stated purpose of this request. There were also concerns regarding the proper procedure to accommodate this request and to determine who should bear the cost of preparing copies of these documents.
Bill Thompson offered to donate a fireproof safe to contain airpark association documents. This safe would most likely be kept in the airpark office.
This meeting was called by the airpark board with the Hubble Group regarding the possible development of the 7 acre parcel of land adjacent to the south end of the airpark. There was clarification of "aviational " zoning of this parcel to mean that it can be considered to be the same as airpark property in usage. There seems to be an amount of uncertainty regarding the airpark boards authority to deny access from the 7 acre parcel to the airpark runway.
The primary purpose of this meeting is to elicit more definitive plans of the Hubble group. The intent of the board is to be able to present the full scope of these plans to its entire membership for their information, feedback and perhaps a vote for or against said development.
Concern was also given to the desires of the landowners adjacent and close to the 7 acre parcel. Mayor Edwards indicated that the city has the obligation to notify landowners within 200 feet of the border of the proposed development. The decision was made to notify some of the residents on Blue Jay Drive of the Wednesday meeting.
4. Mc Cutcheon airpark access.
It was noted that Sonny McCutcheon has not yet requested in writing certain airpark access considerations.
Bill Thompson was given the OK, as far as the board is concerned, for the hangar access driveway to remain where it is currently located. He was not given permission to use the airpark association mailing address and mailbox.
It was announced that Rocky Peebles will be interviewed on one of the Austin TV stations regarding questions of ai;rpark safety. These questions have been raised by Sonny McCutcheon in communications to the airpark board, a TV station, and in a letter expected to be printed in the Lake Travis View.
The executive session adjourned at 9:18 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Wayne Wagner, Secretary.
